Department of Ophthalmology (Eye Diseases)

On 17 September 1969, the Department of Ophthalmology of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine was founded by Specialist Dr. Sezin KARADEDE. Specialist Dr. Sezin KARADEDE became an Associate Professor in 1971, earned the title of Professor in 1980, and served as Head of the Department until 1984. Between 1984 and 1989 the headship of the Department was held by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kadir ELTUTAR; between 1989 and 1991 by Prof. Dr. Sezin KARADEDE; between 1991 and 1996 by Asst. Prof. Dr. Nurettin KARAKAŞ; between 1997 and 1999 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet AKSÜNGER; between 1999 and 2000 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurettin KARAKAŞ; between 2000 and 2001 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet AKSÜNGER; between 2001 and 2004 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaan ÜNLÜ; between 2005 and 2010 by Prof. Dr. Kaan ÜNLÜ; and between 2010 and 2016 by Prof. Dr. İhsan ÇAÇA. Since 29.07.2016, the headship of the Department has been carried out by Prof. Dr. S. Uğur KEKLİKÇİ.
