General Information
History
The Department of Neurology clinic of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine was opened in 1969 at the Diyarbakır State Hospital within the 'Faculty of Medicine Hospital Clinics', and chief resident Dr. Çağlar Kırçak began his duty. In 1970, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fikret Ünsal was appointed from GATA (Gülhane Military Medical Academy) Ankara Neurology, and the first residents Dr. Gazi Özdemir and Dr. Talat Yüzbaşıoğlu began their duty. In the following years, Dr. İsmet Koş, Dr. Nejat Koş and Dr. Yılmaz Ütkür began their duty as residents. In 1974, Prof. Dr. Fikret Ünsal left due to his appointment to Çukurova University. In 1975, the EMG device went into service under the training of Dr. Gazi Özdemir and the rotating Prof. Dr. Korkut Yaltkaya. In 1976, the DSA device with a seriograph went into service. In 1980, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gazi Özdemir left and began his duty at Anadolu University. As the Department of Neurology clinic, we provide services with 8 faculty members.
Purpose
The Department of Neurology Clinic provides 22 beds, a 20-bed Intensive Care Unit, 3 Isolation Intensive Care rooms, a Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory (EEG-EMG), a 1-bed Video EEG Unit and Outpatient clinic service.
