Department of Infectious Diseases

Dicle University Faculty of Medicine Infectious Diseases began education in 1969 with the transfer of the students at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine to Diyarbakır.

In our Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, currently the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, the prevention of hospital infections, and the diagnosis and treatment of patients with suspected infection hospitalized in other clinics (ward and intensive care patients) are carried out. In addition, in our outpatient clinic the follow-up and treatment of all infectious diseases are performed. Between 1993 and 2011 Prof. Dr. Celal AYAZ, and in the 2011–2015 period Prof. Dr. Salih HOŞOĞLU, between 2015 and 2017 Prof. Dr. Saim Dayan, and in the 2017–June 2018 period Prof. Dr. Celal AYAZ served as Head of the Department.
