Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases

The Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine was established in 1971 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atıf Taşpınar. In the early years, services were carried out by faculty members and residents assigned from the Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases of Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. Its first salaried resident was Dr. Hüseyin Endoğru, appointed in 1972. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atıf Taşpınar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Endoğru, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Derici, Prof. Dr. İnci Mevlitoğlu, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Arıca, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Harman and Prof. Dr. Sema Aytekin served as Head of the Department. The current Head of the Department is Prof. Dr. Mustafa Arıca. Since its foundation to date, it has trained 60 Dermatology Specialists.
