It is the department that deals with the history of the Qur'an, which is the main source of Islam, the "Qur'anic Sciences" that emerged as a result of its examination from various aspects, the literature in this field, the manners and methods of better understanding and interpreting the Qur'an, and the tafsir acquis formed throughout the history of Islam, with an analytical approach. The aim of the courses of this department is to examine the historical process of the orthography of the Qur'an, the principles of the correct recitation of the Qur'an, the principles of interpreting it correctly, its content, the formation and development process of the science of tafsir, the literature formed during this process, the methods and problems of the science of tafsir today, and the important Qur'anic researches carried out in today's Islamic world and orientalist scientific circles. In order to achieve these purposes, courses such as History of the Qur'an, Main Topics of the Qur'an, History of Tafsir, Tafsir Methodology, Classical Tafsir Texts, Contemporary Tafsir Texts, Contemporary Tafsir Problems, Thematic Tafsir, Qur'anic Semantics, Qur'anic Translation Techniques, Qur'anic Translation, Contemporary Approaches to the Qur'an, are taught in the undergraduate program.
