Our Library

Our library is a unit that provides all kinds of information and resource support and services to the academic and administrative staff and students of our university, especially our faculty, in their education-training activities, research-development activities and thesis studies.

Our library has been in the service of users since the 1995-1996 academic year. The first books, both purchased and donated, were recorded in a short time. Our library continued to provide service by developing further in the following period. For this purpose, our faculty's esteemed professors donated books. Many books were purchased with the support of both our Rectorate and Dean's Office. In addition, many books were obtained through donations from Türkiye and abroad. Finally, our faculty library has been further enriched with the donation of the personal libraries of Prof. Dr. Yusuf Kenan Haspolat, one of the retired faculty members of Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, and Zeynel Abidin Çiçek, one of the well-known mullahs of the region. The number of books donated to our library so far is 1831.

Our library, which is located in the faculty building and has two separate research and study halls, has a large number of source materials, dictionaries, periodicals, encyclopedias and theses in fields such as history, geography, sociology, philosophy, ethics, rhetoric and biography, especially basic Islamic sciences such as tafsir, hadith, fiqh, theology and Sufism. The library keeps a digital record of all of these materials with the Yordam Library Automation Program, and these records can be followed and used over the internet by those interested thanks to the program, which is connected to the central Ali Emîrî library of our university. Therefore, the academic and administrative staff and students of our university can benefit from all the materials registered in our library and borrow them from our library. Students and researchers outside our university are allowed to scan and examine the works and resources registered in our library and to take photocopies of the requested material, but they cannot borrow any material.
