Department of Dematology and Venereology

The Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine was founded in 1971 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atıf Taşpınar. In its early years, faculty members and assistants were assigned from the Department of Dermatology and Venereal Diseases at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine to carry out the services. The first official resident was Dr. Hüseyin Endoğru, appointed in 1972.

The department has been chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atıf Taşpınar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Endoğru, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Derici, Prof. Dr. İnci Mevlitoğlu, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Arıca, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Harman, and Prof. Dr. Sema Aytekin. Currently, the department is led by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Arıca.

Since its establishment, the department has trained 60 Dermatology Specialists.
