Department of Psychiatry

Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry was established in 1974 as a separate department from the Department of Neuropsychiatry. In 1982, it moved to a new building and continued to provide services under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Kemal AKTEN with 2 specialist physicians. The Department operates in a semi-closed mixed ward with a capacity of 24 beds, where anesthesia-assisted electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is performed. Additionally, various neuropsychological tests are conducted for patients. The Department provides services to both inpatients and outpatients seeking treatment.
