History

The Department of Histology and Embryology at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine was established in 1969. Initially, the department conducted education and research activities with a limited staff. Over the years, the department has trained scientists who now work as heads of departments or faculty members in various medical faculties.

Objective

The main objective of our Department of Histology and Embryology at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine is to cultivate enlightened individuals with a scientific understanding and strong research skills and to conduct scientific investigations and research. The department strives to contribute to Turkey's progress towards contemporary civilization, following the scientific path shown by Atatürk.

Location and Capacity

Our department is located within the Faculty of Medicine building and consists of two separate areas for administrative and research laboratories. Additionally, there is a student laboratory inside the Faculty of Medicine building. All faculty members' offices are equipped with internet connection.

Education and Training

The faculty members of our department provide both theoretical and practical histology and embryology courses to students of Medicine, Dentistry, and Atatürk Health Vocational School. Practical classes are conducted in the first and second years of the medical faculty, with approximately 25-30 students in each of the four groups in a single laboratory. In the dentistry faculty, practical classes are carried out in a single laboratory with around 50 students.
