Department of Cardiovascular Surgery
The department was founded in 1973 under the name, Department of Chest-Heart and Vascular Diseases, and performed its first heart surgery in 1991. In 2002, Department of Chest-Heart and Vascular Diseases was separated as Cardiovascular Surgery and Thoracic Surgery departments.
The activities of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery include:
1.Educational Activities, which cover the specialty and in-service training of medical students.
2. Research And Development Activities, which aim to generate publications based on our clinical experience and on the studies related to cardiovascular diseases and to keep the Department updated by tracking novel publications.
3. Patient Treatment Activities, which aim to cater latest technology surgical techniques for the treatment of diseases related to our branch.
