Department of Child Health and Diseases
GENERAL INFORMATION
The department deals with the protection of the health of children beginning from the neonatal period through the adolescence period, including the diagnosis and treatment of their diseases. Since its establishment in 1970, our clinic has trained over 200 specialists in Child Health and Diseases and currently has 29 research assistants. Training meetings are held regularly (12:45 – 13:30) three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Additionally, a seminar on neonatal issues is organized in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on a regular basis every month.
GRADUATE EDUCATION:
Research assistants are recruited via the TUS exam conducted every September and April. The period of specialty training is 4 years. After a 2-month adaptation process, a total of 12 duties are to be fulfilled under the supervision of the chief assistant. Throughout the training, the assistants work in all clinical, outpatient and rotation units attend seminars three days a week and in-clinic meetings five days a week. Each year, the assistants deemed appropriate by the head assistant can participate actively in scientific activities such as congresses, courses and symposiums in Turkey and/or abroad.
