English Language Teaching Department Preparatory Exemption Exam
The English Language Teaching Preparatory Program is conducted by Dicle University's School of Foreign Languages. The Preparatory Exemption Exam for the 2022-23 academic year is scheduled for September 20, 2022, at 10:00 am, at the School of Foreign Languages building. All students enrolled in the program must take the Preparatory Exemption Exam and achieve a score of 70 or above to commence their undergraduate education in English Language Teaching. The exam assesses reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English. It includes questions related to advanced reading texts, listening texts, essay writing, and oral responses. Successful candidates can begin their undergraduate studies right away. Students who do not meet the required score will undergo one year of English Preparatory Education.
English Language Teaching Program Preparatory Exemption Requirements:
- Exams such as YDS, YÖKDİL, and ÜDS are not accepted as equivalents for the English Language Teaching Program. All newly enrolled students, including those who have taken preparatory classes at another university, must take the Preparatory Exemption Exam.
- To be exempted from the preparatory class, candidates must meet one of the following conditions:
- Achieve a score equivalent to at least 70 points in TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, CPE, or CAE exams, recognized as English language equivalents by YÖK, according to the YÖK Foreign Language Exams Equivalency Table.
- Have completed at least the last three years of secondary education in a country where English is the first language, at institutions attended by citizens of that country.
Applicants who fulfill any of the above-mentioned conditions can apply for exemption by submitting a petition and the necessary documents to the Dean's Office of Ziya Gökalp Faculty of Education.
