German Language Teaching

Department of German Language Teaching

The German Language Teaching Program was initially established in the 1971-1972 academic year under the Diyarbakır Institute of Education. Since 1982, it has been operating within the Faculty of Education at Dicle University. The Department of German Language Teaching welcomes students not only from Diyarbakır and its surrounding provinces but also from across Turkey, admitting candidates based on their language scores in the university exam.

Situated in Diyarbakır, one of Turkey's largest cities, our department provides students with ample opportunities for social, cultural, and academic development. With an enrollment of approximately 270 students, our aim is to equip them with expertise in Language Teaching, German Linguistics, and German Literature, preparing them to teach German to primary and secondary school students.

The Dicle University German Language Teaching undergraduate program spans 4 years, excluding the preparatory class. For further information on ÖSYM scores, placement statistics, base points, and more, please visit https://yokatlas.yok.gov.tr/lisans.php?y=103010258.

Facilities:

Our department, located within the Ziya Gökalp Faculty of Education building, is equipped with interactive boards in all classrooms. The Faculty of Education building also offers access to conference, seminar, and exhibition halls for our students.

To facilitate active participation in lessons, we encourage our students to engage in activities such as presentations, projects, and portfolios, and we provide access to a wide range of materials through the internet environment. The school's library is available for students to study and access online resources. Additionally, students can take part in various social, cultural, and sports activities and club events within the university.

We ensure our students stay updated with the latest developments in their field through organized symposiums, congresses, and panels, featuring invited speakers.
