MUDEK

What is MUDEK?

The Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MUDEK) is an independent organization established to contribute to the enhancement of the quality of engineering education through accreditation, evaluation, and information activities for engineering programs in various disciplines.

MÜDEK was founded in 2002 by the Engineering Deans Council (MDK), which consists of the deans of engineering faculties in Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Initially established as an independent platform under the name Engineering Evaluation Board, MUDEK was created to develop and implement a comprehensive accreditation system for undergraduate engineering programs. It began evaluating engineering programs in 2003 and was officially incorporated as an association in 2007.

With the exception of its administrative staff, all individuals serving on MUDEK's boards, committees, working groups, and accreditation evaluation teams work on a voluntary basis and receive no financial compensation for their services.

Since November 17, 2006, MUDEK has been a member of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) and, since June 15, 2011, has been a full signatory of the Washington Accord (WA), one of the most prestigious international agreements for the recognition of engineering education qualifications.

The primary objective of MUDEK is to improve the quality of engineering education by conducting accreditation, evaluation, and information activities for engineering programs in different disciplines. Through these efforts, MUDEK contributes to the education of highly qualified engineers who are capable of understanding and applying current and emerging technologies, thereby supporting technological advancement and societal well-being.
