Physics Education

The Physics Teacher Training Sub-Department, affiliated with the 4-year Science Education Department, was established in 1986. The sub-department initially offered a 5-year program, but this was shortened to 4 years in 2014. Students are admitted to the sub-department based on their scores on the MF-2 (Science and Mathematics) exam. The sub-department attracts students who are particularly interested in nature and technology and who aspire to pass on their knowledge to the next generation.

In the 2013-2014 academic year, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) suspended student admissions to the sub-department. However, YÖK reversed this decision in 2014, and the sub-department has been admitting students since then. Graduates of the sub-department are mainly employed in public schools, private educational institutions, and private tutoring centers.
