Mathematics Education
The Mathematics Education Sub-Department was established in 1978 as part of the Diyarbakır Education Institute. The sub-department initially offered a 4-year undergraduate program, but this was extended to 5 years in 1998. In 2014, the duration of the program was reduced back to 4 years. Since 2016, the sub-department has been operating under the Department of Mathematics and Science Education.
The sub-department offers programs for both primary school mathematics teaching and secondary school mathematics teaching. The primary aim of the sub-department is to train teachers for middle school and high school levels. The sub-department has a mathematics application laboratory and a computer laboratory to support the teaching and learning of mathematics.
