Department of Journalism
In the globalizing world, the interpretation of social, political, and economic dynamics is becoming increasingly important day by day. The intensification of national and international news flow results in a greater responsibility for those working in the field of journalism.
The Journalism Department implements an education program focused on raising professional standards and qualifications. The aim is to train professionals who will work in the field of internet journalism, one of the most significant platforms of new media, in addition to traditional media's written outlets such as newspapers and magazines.
The Objectives and Goals of Journalism Education
The primary objective of the Journalism program is to graduate individuals qualified for employment in the media and communication sectors. The program aims to produce graduates who can easily perceive the details of events, understand cause-and-effect relationships, recognize connections between individuals and events, and reflect them accurately without manipulation. The goal is to equip graduates with high technical skills and knowledge.

Mission:
The mission of the program is to educate fully-equipped future journalists with theoretical and practical knowledge to work in the media and communication industry. These graduates will possess a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the communication sector, be critical thinkers capable of proposing solutions, and remain committed to ethical principles and social responsibility.
In line with this mission, the Journalism Department's curriculum includes courses that provide a foundation in social sciences such as law, economics, and social psychology. Additionally, it offers courses that focus on both theoretical and applied aspects of journalism, including communication theories, fundamental journalism skills, news gathering and writing, news analysis, press ethics, mass communication law, web design, data journalism, and page layout.
