History

Diyarbakır Vocational School was established in the 1976-1977 academic year under the Ministry of National Education. On July 20, 1982, it became affiliated with the Rectorate of Dicle University. Initially, the school provided education in single-storey sheds on the university campus from 1985 to 2002. In 2002, it relocated to the 4th Block of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.

In the 2013-2014 academic year, Diyarbakır Vocational School of Technical Sciences began accepting its first students following the separation of Diyarbakır Vocational School into three vocational schools. Currently, our Vocational School offers education in 15 departments and 32 programs for first and second education levels. We have a total of 46 academic staff members and 2,238 students. Over the years, our school has been continuously developing its administrative and academic structure, witnessing growth in various aspects.

Our school places a strong emphasis on research infrastructure and education quality within its departments. We strive for studies that lead to new and modern technological advancements, continuously working towards maintaining our laboratories' infrastructure to keep up with innovations and international scientific standards. Our faculty members have internet access and computers, ensuring they can carry out their duties effectively. To serve our students and academicians, we have 20 modern classrooms, 18 laboratories (including 6 computer laboratories), 13 workshops, 1 lecture hall, and 1 conference hall.

We believe it is essential to utilize and embrace the possibilities brought by modern technology in education and training. Therefore, our Directorate has installed projectors in all classrooms and laboratories to enhance teaching and facilitate departmental activities.
