About the Program

The program provides a 2-year education consisting of 4 semesters, with each academic year comprising a minimum of 15 weeks. At the end of each academic year, students participate in Industry Based Training. The program is designed to meet the industry's expectations in line with technological advancements, offering a flexible and diverse curriculum.

The program offers both theoretical and practical courses. In the first year, emphasis is placed on theoretical knowledge, covering topics such as wood materials, wood products, tools, and processing techniques. Students learn and develop skills related to these subjects. In the second year, the focus shifts to practical training, including drawing, projection, modeling, and production techniques specific to the field of furniture and decoration. Within the courses, students design and produce various furniture products.

To keep up with the latest technological innovations and developments in the furniture industry, students have the opportunity to participate in technical trips to fairs and enterprises in Diyarbakır province. These trips not only allow students to stay updated but also facilitate interactions with the market.

The Furniture and Decoration Program aims to provide students with a well-rounded education that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing them for successful careers in the field of furniture and decoration.

The Furniture and Decoration Program has the following objectives:

  • To provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge about the different types and properties of materials commonly used in the furniture industry.
  • To familiarize students with the latest technology machinery and equipment utilized in the production of furniture materials.
  • To develop students' skills in creating projects and designs relevant to the field of furniture and decoration.
  • To train and prepare students as qualified technicians who can serve as intermediate staff, meeting the demands of the market.

By focusing on these objectives, the program aims to equip students with the necessary expertise to excel in the furniture industry. Through a combination of theoretical education and practical training, graduates will be well-prepared to contribute effectively to the sector and meet the needs of the market.

Access to Further Studies

Upon successful completion of the associate degree program students have the opportunity to pursue vertical transfer to various undergraduate programs. To qualify for the transfer, students must achieve success in the Vertical Transfer Examination conducted by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center).

Upon completion of this program, students will be awarded the title of "Furniture production and Interior Design Technician." Graduates have opportunities to work in research and development (R&D) and production departments within furniture companies of various scales across the country. With the knowledge and skills acquired, graduates also have the option to establish their own workshops or businesses within the field.
