Laboratories
Our department has laboratories for Ore Processing, Ore Enrichment, Rock Mechanics, Sample Preparation, Mineralogy, Natural Stone, and Marble Cutting.
In the ore processing and ore enrichment laboratories, sampling, crushing, grinding, classification, drying, and ore enrichment studies are conducted. In the rock mechanics laboratory, the fundamental physical properties of rocks (unit weight, specific gravity, porosity, pore volume, water content, water absorption capacity), uniaxial compressive strength, indirect tensile strength, triaxial compressive strength and internal parameters, shear strength, point-load strength, elasticity modulus, and Poisson's ratio, index properties (Shore and Schmidt hardness, water dispersion index, swelling index) are determined. In the natural stone and marble cutting laboratory, physical and mechanical analyses of all types of natural stones and products (marble, travertine, granite, basalt, diabase, etc.) are performed.
