Department of Visual Arts

In this department, visual arts education will be given on the axis of painting but in different fields of plastic arts, and graduate and doctorate/proficiency in arts programs can also be established. We aim to train our graduates as art consultants, curators, art directors, art organizers, artists and art educators in the art-culture sector. Our students will also be able to work in public and private art institutions, exhibition halls, museums, art organization companies, art fairs, the promotion sector, picture and art galleries, newspapers and magazines, theatre, cinema, performing arts, private and public institutions and organizations.

Learning outcomes of the program

  • Have knowledge about art history, culture and aesthetics specific to the related art field.
  • Have knowledge about art, design methods, materials and techniques in the field.
  • Have knowledge about legal regulations, research and artistic criticism methods, science ethics.
  • Gains knowledge about interdisciplinary interaction in his/her field.
  • Uses relevant methods and techniques in the field and has the ability to ensure the integrity of theory and practice with them.
  • Have the ability to evaluate the interaction of sub-disciplines in the field, to perceive multidimensionally, to think, to design, to develop the ability to apply.
  • Have analytical, critical thinking and interpretation skills.
  • Abstract and concrete concepts; have the ability to transform creative thinking into innovative and original works.
  • Have the ability to work independently and/or within the group in a harmonious and productive manner and to take an active part in the project processes.
  • Have the ability to share the original works related to the field with the society and evaluate the results.
  • Have the ability to absorb lifelong learning awareness, question, analyze and think critically.
  • Have the communication skills to define the target audience, share the studies related to the field and explain it to the society.
  • Have the ability to convey the subjects related to the field effectively and accurately by using visual, written and verbal communication methods.
  • Have the sensitivity to successfully carry out business in the field with national and international values and aesthetic awareness.
