Department of Plant Protection

The Department of Plant Protection, within the Faculty of Agriculture at Dicle University, was established in 1995. Student enrollment began in the 2002-2003 academic year. To date, a total of 91 students have successfully graduated from the department. The Master's degree program was initiated during the 1999-2000 academic year, while the Doctorate program was introduced in the 2008-2009 academic year. Additionally, the Departments of Phytopathology and Entomology were founded in the 2008-2009 academic year.

Study Subjects and Areas

The Department of Plant Protection is devoted to providing education and training in the fields of plant diseases and pests. It conducts both fundamental and applied research and offers consultancy services to various institutions, including public, legal, and private entities. The department is structured around two main branches, Entomology and Phytopathology, with numerous specialized subfields falling under these main branches.
