Learning Mobility - Students

Erasmus Learning Mobility

What is Erasmus+ Learning Mobility of Students?

Erasmus+ Learning Mobility of Students is the student exchange activities carried out between higher education institutions with Erasmus University Charter. The mobility activity takes place within the framework of existing inter-institutional agreements of the higher education institution, allowing enrolled students to complete a portion of their studies at a partner institution abroad. The duration of the activity can vary between 3 and 12 months, depending on each educational level.

Selection Schedule

The application dates and selection schedule are determined annually by our university's Erasmus Office and announced on the Erasmus Office's website. Students who wish to apply must meet the application criteria and submit their individual applications to the Erasmus Office with the required documents before the application deadline.

Application Criteria

To be eligible for application, students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a full-time student enrolled in one of the faculties, colleges, or institutes at Dicle University.
  2. Have completed at least one academic year of study at Dicle University before the mobility period.
  3. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.20 out of 4.00 for undergraduate students and 2.50 out of 4.00 for graduate (master's and doctoral) students at the time of application.
  4. Achieve a minimum B1 level or an equivalent score in the language proficiency exam administered by the School of Foreign Languages (the exam date will be announced on the website), or have an equivalent score from recognized language proficiency exams.

Evaluation Criteria

The evaluations are conducted based on a combination of the student's overall academic grade average (50%) and their language proficiency score (50%). The Erasmus Office makes placements according to the calculated ranking scores and students' preferences.

Selection Process

The departmental quotas may vary each year depending on the budget allocated to our university by the National Agency. Placement is carried out starting from the most successful student based on the available quota. The selection results, including both primary and reserve students, are announced by the Erasmus Office in the form of a list. If primary-listed students relinquish their rights or if additional grants are allocated to our university by the National Agency and our agreement quota allows, reserve students are moved to the primary list starting from the most successful ones. Once selected as an Erasmus student, if a student wishes to waive their rights for any reason, they must inform the Erasmus Office by submitting a petition.

You have been selected as an Erasmus student. What should you do?

There are certain procedures that Erasmus-selected students need to complete. It is advisable to complete these procedures as early as possible.

You should complete the following steps as an Erasmus student:

  1. Fill out the application form and accommodation form of the host university. Submit these forms along with any required documents to the specified location in the manner requested by the university (mail, fax, scan). For the Learning Agreement, you can seek assistance from your department coordinator. Prepare three original copies of the Learning Agreement and submit them to the Erasmus Office for signing.
  2. Request the original Acceptance Letter from the host university. This letter is necessary for visa application purposes.
  3. If you don't have a passport, apply for one. If you already have a passport, check its expiration date to ensure it is valid for the entire duration of your Erasmus program.
  4. Schedule an appointment at the consulate for visa application and prepare the required documents. Note that health insurance requirements may vary depending on the country. Make sure to select an option that complies with the rules set by your destination country and university.
  5. Open a non-term Euro account at Vakıfbank Dicle University Branch. Submit a photocopy of your account statement to the Erasmus Office. You can open a joint account or use internet banking for international transactions.
