ERASMUS+ HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAM

The grants provided by the European Commission in the field of higher education under the Lifelong Learning Program, which was implemented between 2007-2013 and ended in 2014, will continue under the Erasmus+ Program between 2014-2020.

The Erasmus+ Program aims to provide more effective tools to promote cooperation between different sectors in line with the objectives of the Europe 2020 Strategy for new needs in the fields of education, youth and sport.

Specific to the field of higher education, it aims to improve the quality of higher education and strengthen the cooperation between higher education institutions and the business world.

The aim of this activity, which falls under the Key Action 1 (KA1) of Individual Learning Mobility, is to enhance the qualifications of higher education students and staff and provide them with opportunities for professional development abroad. In this context, the following activities are supported to increase the educational opportunities abroad for individuals pursuing higher education, equip them with the skills needed for transitioning from education to the workforce, and enable higher education staff to gain practical knowledge or enhance their pedagogical skills:

  • Student Mobility: University students studying abroad at a higher education institution or completing an internship at a company or any other institution/organization abroad.
  • Staff Mobility: Academic staff of higher education institutions or personnel working in enterprises teaching at a higher education institution abroad or participating in a course/training abroad for the professional development of all academic and administrative staff of higher education institutions (excluding conferences), or undertaking on-the-job training/observation.
