In 1976, it started to operate in Diyarbakır as Diyarbakır University Faculty of Dentistry with 27 students. While the building used as Tigris hotel in Dağkapı today was used as the administration and administration building, student practical training and patient dental health services were provided in the prefabricated buildings within the Faculty of Medicine. In the following years, it moved to the building, which was donated as a dormitory building in the Şehitlik district by a private company to the Ministry of National Education, and continued its education and trainingactivities temporarily.
In 1981, it was renamed Dicle University and moved to the building that is currently used as the Red Crescent blood bank in the Dağkapı hospitals region, and after a short period of service, patient health services were provided on the A floor of the Faculty of Medicine located in the campus campus, and administrative services were provided on the 5th floor. In 1993, it moved to its building in the campus where it is currently carrying out its activities and continues to serve the whole region for education and patient health with 8 departments.
