The Program was established in the 1983-1984 academic year within the School of Education, affiliated with Dicle University. Its first class of teacher graduates completed their studies in the 1984-1985 academic year. In 1987, the education period was extended to 4 years. Subsequently, in 1992, the Classroom Teaching program became affiliated with Ziya Gökalp Faculty of Education, and later in 1998, it was placed under the Department of Primary Education within the same faculty. Following the restructuring of the faculties of education in 2016, the department was reorganized as the Department of Classroom Education, now operating under the Department of Primary Education. Since the 2014-2015 academic year, the program has been accepting students into the master's program as well. Instruction in the program is conducted in Turkish, and the duration of education is 4 years. The program's primary objective is to equip prospective teachers with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors essential for effective classroom teaching, fostering a positive attitude towards the teaching profession. Students enrolled in the program have access to various resources within the Faculty of Education, including the computer laboratory, science laboratory, sports room, drama hall, and library.
