Fixed Prosthesis:

It is a prosthesis made using the patient's teeth. It is used by cutting the patient's teeth and making veneers on them. These veneers are adhered in the mouth with a special material. During fixed attachment, some teeth in the mouth may need to be reduced in order to support them. With fixed prostheses, chewing will be easier and more comfortable. In fixed prostheses, single crowns are applied as covering a single tooth. Bridges are made with teeth next to missing teeth.applied in the form of co-coating. The construction period of fixed prostheses is around 1 week -10 days on average. The patient needs to go to the dentist for 3-4 sessions.

Removable Prostheses:

These are prostheses that the patient can remove at any time. Removable dentures are prostheses made to the patient in cases where the tooth base is missing too much, that is, in cases where dentures cannot be made. Removable dentures are divided into two as full dentures and half dentures. The construction phase of removable prostheses may take 6-7 sessions. Then, the patient's compliance with the prosthesis is in question. The removable denture depends on the number of teeth. It is never bound by the law. It is thought that these prostheses are made in advanced ages and are associated with mourning, but this is related to teeth. The more missing your teeth are, the more removable prosthesis is made. Of course, it is mostly used in the elderly because tooth loss occurs as they get older.

Precision Retained Dentures:

Applied to partially edentulous mouths. They are aesthetic prostheses without any visible apparatus such as hooks. In cases with suitable tooth and bone structure, aesthetic defect caused by clasps is prevented by placing sensitive retainers. Advantages of precision attachment dentures: * Better aesthetics * Easier use and adaptation than conventional dentures * Better retention.

Partial Dentures:

It is applied to partially edentulous mouths. Retention is provided with nails and hooks on the teeth. Total Dentures are applied to mouths where all teeth are missing.

Daily cleaning and maintenance of your dentures is important to prevent plaque, food residue and tartar formation. Regular care is essential to maintain the health of the tissue under the prosthesis and to prevent infections. After meals, wash your prosthesis in water to remove food residues. Before going to bed, you should brush your denture using water, various toothpastes or denture care products. Abrasive powders should not be used in the brushing process, as abrasive powders will damage the denture surface. Special denture brushes or normal toothbrushes can be used for brushing. Along with daily brushing, chemical weekly denture care should also be performed using special effervescent denture cleaning tablets. Despite all this care, stains and tartar that penetrate into the prosthesis for a long time can only be cleaned by your dentist with ultrasonic tools and the polish of your prosthesis is renewed. Do not forget to visit your doctor regularly every six months, so that you can use your prosthesis for a long time as it was on the first day.

Today, with the increase in aesthetic expectations, metal-supported porcelain coatings have been replaced by metal-free coatings with zirconium substructure, which are called full ceramics. The purpose of making zirconiums is to obtain more natural and more aesthetic results. Natural teeth transmit light, they have a certain transparency. Metal supported porcelains offer a more opaque appearance due to the metal in the substructure. Zirconium, on the other hand, has the light transmittance of the natural tooth, thus offering more natural appearances. Zirconium is completely tissue-friendly, there is no risk of allergies, its compatibility with the gingiva is much better than metal-supported porcelain. In metal-supported veneers, the color of the metal may reflect on the patient's gingiva in the form of purplish spots. But even if the gingiva is receded in zirconium, the tooth-gingival nerve preserves its aesthetic appearance.

Due to the fragile structure of porcelain, it is necessary to use a hard, durable material as a substructure in order to increase the strength of the porcelain in all crown and bridge coatings. In zirconium support, this material consists of zirconium alloy. Zirconium-supported porcelain crowns and bridges are as strong as metal-supported ones, if they are made properly and as long as they are cared for by the patient, they will serve as the patient's own tooth for many years without any problems.

What are the disadvantages?

The only disadvantage of zirconium-supported porcelain is that its cost is higher than metal-supported porcelain.

Zirconium supported porcelains are applied in teeth with a lot of substance loss, in the presence of missing teeth, especially in the anterior regions where aesthetics is more important.
