PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGY
In the theoretical and practical courses given in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, important scientific background and technical aspects of dosage form design, basic dosage forms and applications are taught. Pharmaceutical evaluations, physicochemical basis and rheological properties of various dosage forms are examined in these courses. Pharmaceutical solutions, colloids and dispersions, suspensions, emulsions, ointments, suppositories, transdermalsystems, sterile parenteral preparations, ophthalmic preparations, solid dosage forms and sterile pharmaceutical dosage forms,cosmetic products and their different types of products are produced and controlled in the laboratory. Pharmaceutical Technology is to introduce students to the principles and Technologies applied in the preparation of pharmaceutical dosage forms. This includes product design, formulation, manufacture, composition, quality control and clinical application of various dosage forms.
Laboratory Applications
The course teaches the production of pharmaceutical solutions, colloids and dispersions, suspensions, emulsions, ointments, suppository formulations and their quality control.The course teaches the manufacture and quality control of pharmaceutically sterile parenteral preparations, ophthalmic preparations, powders, granules, tablets, capsules, lozenges, cosmetic products. As a result, it is aimed that the students who successfully complete the Pharmaceutical Technology Department courses are targeted to be pharmacists who can prepare pharmaceutical dosage formulations with sufficient knowledge about drug dosage forms, can obtain quality, safe and effective pharmaceutical products, and examine the factors affecting the preparation and quality control of these formulations.
