Department of Economics

History

The Department of Economics started education in 2008-2009 academic year as the base department of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The Department of Economics aims to provide a general and basic economics formation by including quantitative methods such as mathematics and econometrics on the basis of economic theory, by taking the firms and markets into the account, in where the science of economics is applied. The department also aims to train economists who will work as researchers and practitioners that will deal with the Turkish economy in various aspects in the historical process with examples from practice.

This department is subjected to the first stage degree system that requires 240 ECTS credits in Science of Economics in higher education. When the program is successfully completed, and the program qualifications are provided, a Bachelor's degree in Economics is obtained.

Master’s and Doctorate Education

Our department continues to give master’s and doctorate education besides the undergraduate education.
