INTERNATIONAL KURDISH SYMPOSIUM - I
RELIGION, HISTORY, LANGUAGE, AND CULTURE
Since ancient times, religion, history, language, and
culture have been key factors shaping the identity and spiritual character of
nations. Therefore, recognizing and understanding the characteristics of
nations is possible only through research into their religion, history,
language, and culture. Due to the specific circumstances of Kurdish society,
research on Kurdish beliefs, history, language, and culture has not reached the
level of that in developed nations, making further work and focus in this area
necessary. This symposium, organized jointly by the Department of Kurdish
Language and Literature of the Sezai Karakoç Faculty of Literature at Dicle University
and the Faculty of Theology at Dicle University, aims to advance these studies
to a higher level. With this event, we seek to direct the attention of
researchers in this field to understudied or unexplored topics related to
Kurdish beliefs, history, language, and culture. Within this framework, we plan
to examine the following topics at the symposium:
1. Kurdish madrasas
2. Sufism among the Kurds
3. Religious works in Kurdish
4. Religious movements among the Kurds
5. Kurdish language and literature
6. Kurdish folklore
7. Kurdish history
8. Kurdish ethnography and sociology
9. Kurdish geography
10. Kurdish education and academia
11. Kurdish architecture
Studies on the topics outlined above will be accepted in
Kurdish, Turkish, English, Arabic, and Persian. We kindly request that
researchers pay attention to the deadlines for application, abstract
submission, and full text submission, and adhere to scientific standards.
Abstracts and full texts will be published as separate books. Submitted full
texts will be published as book chapters.
