Department of Virology

Department of Virology was opened on July 11, 1992 and began to admit students in the 1993-1994 academic year. Until 2013, Assistant Professor Hüseyin PULAT taught the courses in our department. The department is headed by Associate Professor Dr. Neval Berrin ARSERİM. Since 2016, Associate Professor Dr. Metin GÜRÇAY, who is the head of the Department of Virology at Bingöl University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, has been assigned to teach the theoretical courses. In 2015, Research Assistant Berfin KADIROĞLU was appointed to the department as part of the Faculty Member Training Program. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Bursa Uludağ University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Virology.

The Department offers undergraduate courses in "Virology" and "Viral Zoonoses".
