Biotechnology Research Laboratory

Biotechnology Research Laboratory

Biotechnology Research Laboratory was established in conjunction with the opening of the Department of Biotechnology in 2005. To date, 19 projects have been completed, with 2 projects currently ongoing. Our laboratory conducts scientific research in collaboration with both national and international partners. A total of 10 Master's theses and 10 doctoral dissertations have been successfully completed. Additionally, there are currently 2 doctoral and 1 Master's students conducting their studies.

Research Areas:

Within our Biotechnology Laboratory, studies focus on the development of propagation protocols for certain plant species, particularly those used in medical applications and facing the threat of extinction. These studies involve tissue culture methods such as micropropagation, shoot culture, callus culture, and suspension culture. In addition to propagation, research is also carried out to enhance the levels of medically valuable compounds present in these plants.
