Program Introduction

To provide students with the necessary language skills to be successful in their academic and business lives, to express themselves in different environments where English is used as a means of communication, to exchange information, and to train qualified translators who are experts in their field to translate in different sectors. Dicle University Diyarbakır Social Sciences Vocational School of Applied English and Translation and Interpreting Program is a 2-year associate degree program.

Job Opportunities After Graduation

Students who graduate from the Applied English and Translation and Interpreting program can work in translation offices, public institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Embassies, Consulates, Cultural Centers, Hotels and Travel Agencies, Publishing Houses, magazines, newspapers, Radio, Television and film studios, Foreign Trade, Import and Export departments of international institutions and organizations. In addition, with DGS, they can place in the departments of English Language and Literature, American Culture and Literature, Translation and Interpreting (English), English Linguistics.

Faculties for Vertical Transfer

Candidates who have successfully completed their associate degree education can make vertical transfer to undergraduate programs related to their fields, provided that they are successful in the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) exam. They can also make vertical transfer directly to the relevant undergraduate programs of Open Education Faculties without examination.
