Department of Turkish Music

The Turkish Music Department at Dicle University State Conservatory was established in the 2002-2003 academic year. It began with 20 undergraduate students and has since been dedicated to training music teachers, academicians, and artists required in Turkey.

The department draws strength from our rich traditional culture and its main objective is to educate competent educators, qualified artists, and academicians in the field of national and internationally recognized music. This is achieved by instilling a deep understanding of music culture and utilizing scientific methods to analyze and preserve it for future generations.

Job Opportunities for Graduates

Graduates of the Turkish Music Department have various career options. They can pursue opportunities in state institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation). Additionally, graduates who receive specialized training can find employment in state institutions like the Ministry of Education (MEB), state universities, private music courses, and private universities.

Courses

The Dicle University State Conservatory Turkish Music program encompasses both theoretical and applied courses. Currently, the department has 79 active students and consists of four classes. The teaching staff comprises six highly qualified professionals. Since its establishment in 2002, the department has produced 225 graduates.

Student Admission

Students who surpass the threshold score determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) are eligible to participate in talent exam interviews held during the specified dates in July and August. There is no age requirement for admission to the Turkish Music Department.
