History

The School of Physical Education and Sports was founded on October 14, 1996, by the Council of Ministers, in accordance with the additional article 30 of the law dated March 28, 1983, and numbered 2809, upon the letter of the Ministry of National Education, dated 1996 and numbered 022315. The school is located at Dicle University in Diyarbakır, Turkey.

The school offers three departments: Physical Education and Sports, Coaching Education, and Sports Management. The language of instruction is Turkish, and the duration of study is 8 semesters. The school has a variety of facilities, including 7 classrooms, 1 football field, a Tartan Athletics track, an indoor tennis court, 2 outdoor basketball courts, and an Olympic outdoor and indoor swimming pool.

The school's mission is to meet the sports needs of our country and region by educating individuals who will graduate as Physical Education Teachers, Coaches, and Sports Management professionals, thereby becoming sports education specialists.

The school has a faculty of 2 Associate Professors, 4 Doctor Lecturers, 13 Lecturers, 3 Research Assistants, and 16 Administrative staff. Since its establishment, the school has graduated thousands of students and continues to work with its current students every year in the academic year.
