Coaching Education

The Department of Coaching Education was opened in 1998 within the School of Physical Education and Sports and was established as the head of the Department on 14.08.2017. The Department of Coaching Education offers courses that improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of students with an education system based on scientific methods. Coaching education is an interdisciplinary field that includes training science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, sport psychology, statistics, technique teaching, tactical development of sports branches and performance planning.

Targets

  • To train students to be able to follow the performances of athletes both in Turkey and in the world.
  • To make effective athlete work.
  • To train experts who can conduct scientific research in the field of sports.
  • To develop students' skills and leadership qualities.

Admission Requirements

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students apply to start the program.

Access to Further Studies

Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs in their fields or related fields, provided that they meet the necessary requirements.

Graduation Requirements

In order to successfully complete the program, students must pass all the courses available in the program (240 ECTS credits) and obtain a weighted grade point average of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Employment Opportunities

Students specialize in the field they want in sports branches. After completing their education, students start their coaching life with the qualification of coach or senior coach according to the coaching regulations of the relevant federations.

In addition, students are trained as "intermediate staff", who have an important place in sports. After completing their education, students have the opportunity to work in sports clubs as conditioners, masseurs, statisticians, etc.
