History

History

Our school, which was established in 1976-1977 academic year under the Ministry of National Education, was affiliated to the Rectorate of Dicle University with the Decree Law on Higher Education Institutions dated July 20, 1982 and numbered 41.

While our school provided education and training under the name of Diyarbakır Vocational School between 1985-2002 in the place allocated for our School within the University campus, it moved to the 4th block of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture in 2002 and continued its activities in the said place until 2013. As a result of the separation of Diyarbakır Vocational School into three separate vocational schools as of June 2013, our school started to serve on the 2nd floor of the Vocational Schools building under the name of "Diyarbakır Vocational School of Agriculture.

Horticulture, Organic Agriculture, Seed Technology and Dairy and Livestock Breeding programs are offered in the Department of Crop and Animal Production; Food Technology and Milk and Dairy Products programs are offered in the Department of Food Processing.

Diyarbakır Vocational School of Agriculture started to receive its first students in the 2013-2014 academic year and currently continues its education and training activities in 6 programs within 2 departments with 17 academic staff and 868 students.
