PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
The Computer Programming Program provides information on computer programming in a business environment. With the applications carried out in the laboratory environment, students are enabled to be experienced programmers and users of computer systems. Our students generally work as Computer Programmers when they graduate. The Department of Computer Technology and Programming educates programmers who are equipped with basic knowledge of computer science, have technical knowledge and experience in the use of programming languages and can easily adapt to the renewed technology. Why "Vocational School"? One of the aims of higher education is to provide high school graduates with profession in the fields that the industry needs. Vocational schools were established in order to achieve this aim in a short period of two years and to train experts in their fields. In addition to vocational training, the education provided in vocational schools constitutes the first stage of undergraduate education. Graduates of the Vocational School who have obtained "associate degree" as a result of their two-year education can continue their education for "undergraduate" degree if they meet the necessary conditions. What qualifications will Computer Programming students have when they graduate? Computer Technology and Programming students will have the knowledge and skills at the end of the two-year education period: Basic computer knowledge for working efficiently in the sector, Technical knowledge and skills required in the use of programming languages, Effective and fluent use of common operating systems and applications, ability to design and develop a medium-sized software system in all stages, ability to follow developments in technology and adapt easily to innovations. In the Computer Programming Program, education and training is given at the associate degree level with two instructors.
