Dicle Üniversity Vocational School of Health Services started education with the Nursing program in 1990-1991 academic year. In the 1992-1993 academic year, in accordance with the protocol between the Ministry of Health and the Council of Higher Education, the Vocational High School of Health was transformed into Diyarbakır Atatürk Vocational School of Health Services and started education with the Nursing program.

In 1997-1998, when nursing education was raised to undergraduate level, Anesthesia Program affiliated to Vocational School of Health Services and Medical Documentation and Secretarial programs affiliated to Atatürk Vocational School of Health Services were opened instead of nursing programs of our schools. On 02.02.2001, both Vocational Schools of Health Services were merged under the name of Atatürk Vocational School of Health Services with the proposal of the Rectorate of D.U. and the decision of the Executive Board of the Council of Higher Education dated 27.02.2001.
