Prof. Dr. Ali AKAY
He was born in 1962 in Kurşunlu village of Diyarbakır / Dicle district. He finished primary school in his village and secondary school in Atatürk secondary school, Diyarbakır. He graduated from Diyarbakır Imam-Hatip High School in 1979. He worked as Imam for one year. In 1984, he graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Uludağ University. Between 1985 and 1994, he taught Religious Culture and Ethics in different schools in Mersin and Diyarbakır. In 1994, he was appointed as a research assistant to the Theology Faculty of Dicle University. He received his master's degree in 1996 and his doctorate in 2003 from Harran University, Institute of Social Sciences. He became an Associate Professor on December 18, 2008. In 2014 he became a professor. He is married and has 6 children. He speaks Arabic, Persian, French and English.
