The department was founded in 2004
as the Soil Science Division. The department has 1 Assoc.
Professor and 1 Research Assistant.
The Soil Science program aims to teach the students about
putting the scientific knowledge and implementing it for
sustainable agricultural production and life.
The main objectives of the department are to teach at
undergraduate level and to carry on research activities on
diversified soil fertility, plant nutrition and fertilization.
As releated with these subjects, researches on determination of
nutrient status of various higher plants, determination of
nutrient elements deficiency with plant and soil analyses and
fertilization programmes in the GAP region have been done.
