Department of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation was opened in 2004. Thus, the department have been still  in establishment stage. There are two faculties, one of them is an Assoc. Prof., the other is Assis. Prof.. In addition, a Research Assistant have been working.  A Bachelor’s degree has not been given by the department due to the limited infrastructures and faculties’ number. However, the basic lessons and/or lectures such as “Agricultural Meteorology, Irrigation Engineering Principles, Salinity and Drainage, Techniques for Topographic Measurements, Engineering Mechanics” have been taught by the faculties in the department for the  Bachelor’s degree  for the students in the other agricultural engineering departments.

The main task of the department are to carry out researches on sustainable use of water and soil resources, establishment of infrastructures for irrigated lands, water management, irrigation, drainage, hydrology, salinity and agricultural structures. In addition, to support agricultural extention services on irrigation and drainage, irrigation scheduling for crops and to train the agricultural engineer and technicians in collaboration with agricultural organizations are among the mission  of the department.
