Dicle University, Faculty of agricultural, Department of Animal Science was esthablished in 1996 and graduated its educational season for the years of  2006-2007.

We teach the students and staff who will able to produce quality animal products for a happy human future. Provide the highest quality undergraduate and graduate education in the animal science and production through formal and experimential methods. In addition to teaching and education, we conduct the research projects to realize a profitable and quality animal production.

Department of Animal Science at Dicle University serves the Southestern Anatolia Region and Turkey in teaching, research and extension regarding the efficient production of the livestock. The faculty consists of 3 Associate Professors,  2 Phd (Dr Assistant) and 2 Researcher Asistant with expertise in the disciplines of growth and development, nutrition, breeding and genetics, physiology, management, animal behaviour and agricultural information systems. The department has approximately 10 undergraduate students pursuing degrees.
