Exam And Probation Regulation Of Teaching-Education

 

                COMPREHENSION :

 

Article   1- This regulation is prepared according to the act of Higher Education with the number of 2547 and the concerning articles changing this act.

 

Article 2- The students’ enrolments, teaching-education and the exams are carried out according to this article.

 

Article  3- This article is applied to the students to be “Dentists” in the faculty of dentistry.

 

 

 

 

                                  STUDENTS’ QUOTA-TRANSFERS

 

ACADEMICAL CALENDAR AND FEES

 

 

Article  4- This article is established according to the decision taken by the Faculty Board, University Senate and Higher Education Board.

 

 Article  5- Transfer and the transfer quotas are carried out according to the act concerning “Under-Graduate and Graduate Fundamentals between Higher Education Institutions.”

   

Article 6- the dates of the beginning and end of the education terms and exams are established in “the Academic Calendar”, which is determined by University Senate every year.

  

Article  7- The students have to pay the fee which is determined by the Board of Ministers upon the recommendation of Higher Education Committee every year.

 

EDUCATION TERMS AND DURATION

 

Article  8- Education terms consist of Fall and Spring. One term covers from the first day it starts until the first day of the next term. One term cannot be less than 70 days. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are not considered education days. But Turkish Language, Foreign Languages, Fine Arts, and Physical Education Sections can make use of Saturdays. 

 

 

 

Article  9- The duration of education is 5 years (10 terms). The students have to graduate, at most, in 8 years except for the situations stated in Article 10. Those who cannot complete or is considered that he/she cannot in this duration will be discharged by the Administration Board from the faculty.

 

  

 

Article l0- In order to graduate the last class students;

a)       Take two more exams one of which is compensation for the lessons he/she failed.

b)       Those who decrease the number of the failed-lessons to less than five are given three terms.

c)       Those who have five failed-lessons without taking extra exams are given four terms (two years).

d)       Those who have three or less failed-lessons will have unlimited right to take exams. The students who do not take three terms will not be able to make use of this right. The student who takes advantage of this right goes on to pay the fee but he/she cannot make use of studentship rights except for taking exams.

 

        The students who fail for not attending or cannot pass the exams and those who cannot graduate because of the reasons stated in the Article 9 are given a right to take three exams which they can use in three years. Those who are given this right take exams at the beginning of the year. If they success they go on the education. The exams’ duration is not considered a part of the education. The student who takes exams cannot make use of studentship rights at all. The interference to education because of the reasons stated in Article 32 is not considered a part of education for the calculation of Article 9.

 

THE KINDS OF EXAMS AND EVALUATION FUNDAMENTALS

 

 

Article 11- Four kinds of exams are made in the faculty:

a)       Mid-term exam

b)      Compensation exams

c)       Term-end exams  (at the end of term or year)

d)      Make-up exams

 

 

 

Article 12- Exams;

a)       Are made practical, theoretical or practical-theoretical.

b)       Theoretical exams may be test, written, oral or a mixture of all. Practical exams are made through laboratories and clinics.

c)       The term-end or make-up exams of the lessons having probation or practice are made in two different stages. The students has to be success the practical exam in order that he can take the theoretical exam, which means 50 out of 100.

d)       The one who fails the term-end practical-exam takes the make-up practical-exam. If he/she successes he/she takes the make-up theoretical-exam.

e)       The student who fails the term-end theoretical-exam (less than 50 out of 100) takes only the make-up theoretical -exam.

f)        The probation and theoretical exams of the lessons having both probation and theory are evaluated separately in the last class.
