History
Our department was established within the Faculty of Science in accordance with Articles 1, 2, and 7 of Law No. 1785 dated November 21, 1973, which regulates the establishment of Diyarbakır University. Subsequently, it continued its activities within the Faculty of Science and Literature in accordance with Article 32 of Decree Law No. 41 published in the Official Gazette dated July 20, 1982, and numbered 17760. Finally, with the Council of Ministers Decision No. 15345 published in the Official Gazette dated September 2, 2009, the Faculty of Science and Literature was closed and the Faculty of Science was established. Since that date, our department has been operating under the Faculty of Science.
